Types of dentures

  • Full dentures: These are used when all of the natural teeth are missing. They consist of a flesh-colored acrylic base that fits over the gums. The upper denture covers the roof of the mouth, while the lower denture is horseshoe-shaped to accommodate the tongue.
  • Partial dentures: These are used when only some of the natural teeth are missing. They consist of replacement teeth attached to a metal or acrylic frame. The frame is then attached to the remaining teeth using metal clasps or precision attachments.
