Medicare Coverage for Dental Implants

Medicare is a federal health insurance program primarily for individuals who are 65 years or older. While Medicare typically does not cover routine dental care, including dental implants, there may be instances where Medicare can provide coverage for dental implants:

  • If the dental implant is necessary for another Medicare-covered procedure, such as the placement of a maxillary prosthesis after a cancer surgery
  • If the dental implant is part of the reconstruction of the jaw due to an accident or trauma
