Assistance is given to help patients enroll in coverage programs for which they are eligible.CommuniCare\'s dental program establishes a sound basis for promoting a healthy lifestyle that includes adequate and proper dental care. The dental program provides comprehensive acute and preventive dental care for children and adults, including ongoing treatments and emergency treatments. Dental services include oral exams, x-rays, cleanings, sealants, fillings, root canals, urgent care, surgery, dental education and preventive care. Referrals are given for specialty care that is not otherwise available at the clinic.Smile Savers ProgramThe Smile Savers staff provides dental screenings, fluoride, exams, application of sealants to prevent cavities, dental education, and referrals into dental treatment for children enrolled in Yolo County schools that have 50% or greater enrollment in the Federal School Lunch Program. This includes elementary and pre-schools throughout Yolo County. The Smile Savers program plans visits to classrooms twice every school year, arranging the schedule with school nurses and individual teachers. The program also includes a Parent Education component that teaches parents about the benefits of taking care of their children\'s teeth as well as the basics of daily oral hygiene and nutrition to promote dental health.
